Penzance is easy to reach, being at the end of the London to
Penzance railway line. The town makes for an interesting holiday
rail trip in Cornwall, and the station is near both harbour and town
on the seafront. The ferry service to the Isles of Scilly runs from
here, and there used to be a heliport here as well, but sadly no
more. It is now a Sainsbury's.
The town has an interesting history, and prospered from the 16th
century on, having taken over from the nearby Marazion with its new
markets and harbour. Chapel Street is well worth a visit.

of Humphrey Davy - Penzance's own,
born here in 1778, and a
famous chemist and inventor of the Miners' Safety Lamp.

There is a fairly eclectic collection of boats enjoying their
retirement or being restored
in the inner harbour, or just laid
up or visiting for a while!
